Clinical Audits

I do regular audits and present them in the Clinical Governance Meetings.

 

Experimental Research:

As a part of VancouverGeneralHospital and University of British Columbia, I was doing experiments on Pig’s Liver and Assessment of various Radiofrequency Ablation Probes. We have completed experiments on 6 pigs and the Data was published. I had done this study for Dr Stephen Ho and Mr Andrew Buczkowski. This was presented at the American Association of Liver Surgeons in May 2005.

Currently (2016- till date )doing Bariatric Embolisation in KTPH and three patients has had the trials done after due DSRB approval. Current grant is for 50,000 dollars and hoping to recruit at least 8-10 patients.

 

Presentations

I presented a 20 min presentation on Barium Swallow appearances of Oesophageal disorders to the Hospital Grand Round at University Hospital Aintree, Liverpool. (Nov 2000)

I conducted an audit of MRI versus shoulder arthroscopy with Dr Brian Eyes. I presented this on 23rd January 2001 at departmental Audit Meeting at University Hospital Aintree, Liverpool. I had presented a clinical audit on CT pulmonary angiograms at the Audit Meeting,Whiston Hospital, St Helens – November 2002.

I did two oral presentations at the Annual Poster and Presentation Competition held in the University of Liverpool. I was runner up in the best oral presentation. (June 2003)

I have presented a paper entitled “Coding” abnormal barium enema reports – a simple and effective way to minimise overlooked reports’ to the Radiological Society of North America, Chicago, USA (December 2003). This was subsequently put into full clinical practice and this is the early precursor of our current Coding Cancers.

World Health Organisation:

I worked as Research Assistant for World Health Organisation, collecting and collating data about prevalence of sexually transmitted diseases and its treatment in inner Madras GP surgeries for 3 months during 1992. I collected most data compared to my colleagues.

College Tutor (Radiology) 2006-2008

I had been in charge of training and supervision of the Radiology Registrars in the dept since 2006. During this time, I had developed a complete handbook for the registrars induction. During this time, I had also managed to integrate the registrars on call between City and Sandwell Hospitals despite reluctance. During this time, all the registrars achieved 100% pass rate in various examinations. Deputy Divisional Director (Strategy and Service Development (2007- 2010)

I had taken this post since 2007 for the department of Radiology at both City and Sandwell Hospital. During this time, we had introduced new services, new procedures and successful cross site working for registrars. We had also installed new IR equipment, new MR machine, and new CT machine after successful business cases.
